Joint lab retreat with the Ebisuya Lab
We had an amazing joint retreat with the lab of Miki Ebisuya
The Gerri and Ebisuya labs are similarly interested in species-specific analysis, even though focused on different developmental processes. It was a great occasion to share our data, receive crucial feedback and discuss about new in vitro models.
The retreat took place in Leipzig. We had fantastic activities to get to know each other, such as science speed dating and science meets arts, where we discussed about the diversity of shapes and functions in the animal kingdom.
As outing activities, we had a city tour “Haunted Leipzig” and we visited the amazing Leipzig Zoo!
Thanks to the organizers for the amazing retreat!

Claudia participated at the mentoring session in a panel with experts with different career paths, to discuss with students the employment opportunities in academia and beyond.
Claudia also gave a talk in the “early embryogenesis” session showing the first and exciting data developed in the lab and the lab’s future plans.
We met with old friends and got to know new scientists. It was a great meeting with stimulating talks, posters and discussion and great fun!

A Sunday at the lake…
… of course we also like to spend time together outside of the lab.
On a summery Sunday we decided to test not only the water quality but also our balancing skills at Geierswalder lake. 😉
