Hey, I’m Ornella.

I first joined the lab as a Master’s student in 2023, and quickly decided to continue my journey as a Ph.D. student, fascinated by the research questions and models used here. I’m currently working on understanding the molecular causes behind the extreme diversity of placenta across mammalian species, using stem cells and organoids – my favorite in vitro systems.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to podcasts, and supporting my favorite football team.
