I did my Bachelor’s in Molecular Biotechnology and Master’s in Biology at the TU Dresden. During my undergrad studies I became very interested in morphogenetic processes and cell polarity. The question that particularly intrigues me is how a developing tissue can exert its precise function. I have already worked with Drosophila melanogaster, mouse models and primary mouse cell culture. Now, as one of my next challenges, in Claudia‘s lab I study the role of microenvironmental cues during early stages of placenta development using human placenta organoids.

In my free time I love to spend time outside with my family, occasionally I also get a chance to knit and sew.
